I haven’t talked about it on this blog yet, but I am SUPER interested in getting into virtual reality, and have been for quite a while.

One thing that really sparked my interest in VR was when I read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline a few months ago.  Since then, I’ve started reading Warcross by Marie Lu, which is also a novel about virtual reality.  There is a movie coming out this year for Ready Player One, which I also want to see.

Anyway, we were debating getting the HTC Vive virtual reality system this Christmas, but since we heard that they are coming out with a wireless headset this year, we decided to wait on it. #sadface  Today I looked up news on the HTC Vive, and apparently they have unveiled the wireless Vive headset!  Besides the fact that it’s wireless, it also has improved resolution, and an integrated audio system.  It’s not actually for sale yet, so we don’t know when it will come out, or what the price will be, but I am SO excited for it!

One thing I want to start looking into, is making digital 3D models.  I haven’t done much research yet, but apparently Adobe has a program called Dimension, which allows you to make 3D stuff.  Also, I heard about a program called 123D, but again, I haven’t done any research.  If I start making any 3D stuff, I’ll definitely post it here.  I think it would be amazing to make a small world or game in VR.

I think VR is the future of everything, and I am so excited to be in this period of time where it’s happening!

Happy New Year, all you wonderful people!  I am happy to say that the holiday rush is now over.  Due to all the madness involving birthdays and holidays, I’m usually busy from October to the beginning of January.  I can finally breath again!

I actually played at least two hours of Minecraft today, as a way of celebrating my freedom. (I’m doing some terraforming and building a pretty cool mountain fortress in an AMAZING single player world I created.  If you’re interested in getting the seed, just mention it in the comments below.)

One of my 2018 goals is to finish purging my house.  I use the basic principles of the KonMari tidying method.  This means that I only keep what I love, or what is actually useful.  I also have keepsake boxes, which are probably too numerous to conform to the KonMari method.  Anyway, I actually get really excited about purging, it’s just I don’t always have time for it.  But this year, I want to purge the whole house, and also sell a bunch of stuff on eBay.

I realized that I definitely do not meet my own standards of acceptable skills in drawing human anatomy, so this year I want to focus on drawing people a lot more.  I’ll probably be posting my sketches on my Instagram account, if you want to follow me there.  I’m also really bad at drawing male faces, so that’s something else for me to work on.

I’m currently finishing up an “Essential Oil Image Bundle” series.  I have three more to go, and I’ll be taking a break from the essential oil art.  I’m posting the image downloads on Etsy, and I’ll also post some photos on Instagram, Twitter, and Behance.  If the essential oil image bundles get some attention, I may create more of them in the future.  The one I’m working on right now is lavender, which is kind of fun.  It’s always fun deciding which elements involving each essential oil to include.

I’m trying to work on proper time management and delegation of tasks, because currently it is very difficult to find time for working on art.  I might also try meal planning, which saves time and money.

I plan on losing 20 lbs this year, which will get me very close to my goal weight.  I started eating healthier this holiday season, but in 2018 I want to improve on that even more.

Well, it’s getting late, so that’s it for now!  I hope you all have a wonderful 2018, and if you have any goals for this year, I’d love if you would mention them in the comments!  Happy New Year!
